Online Safety
At Chapel End Junior Academy we take online safety seriously. We want all our school community to be able to use technology safely and responsibly and know what to do if they encounter problems.
Parent and Carer Guides
Every two weeks, a new parental guide from National Online Safety will be uploaded onto our website. These guides provide parents and carers with further information about popular apps or games for children. Please see our most current guide below.
What you need to know about Social Media
Every month, Mr Trunkfield, our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for Online Safety, will produce helpful videos to provide you with more information about popular apps. Please see below for our latest video!
National Online Safety
The online world is posing an ever-increasing risk to children and it is important that schools, parents and carers work together to take an active role in teaching children about online dangers and how to act safely when using the internet.
We are therefore delighted to announce that Chapel End Junior Academy, in our ongoing commitment to protect our pupils online, are working with National Online Safety to provide an interactive online workshop for all our parents & carers.
The course can be taken at your own convenience and covers:
· Information about online dangers and the newest platforms
· What online risks to look out for and how to protect your child
Please find below the URL you need to visit to register your account. You will need to complete your details and select “I am a: Parent/Carer” from the dropdown:
https://nationalonlinesafety.com/enrol/chapel-end-junior-academy
Once you have registered, you will be able to access the “Online Safety for Parents and Carers’ course.
Additionally, you will then also have access to the National Online Safety’s Resources (which includes 50+online platform guides on the latest social media channels and games). This aims to help empower parents with the knowledge to protect their children from the dangers of the internet.
If you have any questions, or trouble accessing the course please contact [email protected]. Alternatively, please contact the school office.
E-Safety for Parents
At Chapel End Junior Academy we want our parents to have a good understanding of technology and its uses. We offer parent training to ensure our parents are knowledgeable of both the positives and negatives of using technology. We are also available to our parents should they need any support with e-safety.

CEOP
Below is a description of what CEOP does for children and young adults. Some links to CEOP’s Thinkyouknow resources and their Click CEOP button have been provided on this page.
‘The NCA’s CEOP Command is here to help children and young people. We are here to help if you are a young person and you or your friend (up to age 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online, or in the real world. We also have advice and links to support for other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking. Visit our Safety Centre for advice and to report directly to CEOP, by clicking on the Click CEOP button.‘ CEOP 2014
